Lake Information
"Eagle" is the official name, but most call it "Big Eagle". There maybe two reason for the "Big" in the name. First is we are only about 4 miles north of the city of Big Lake, MN (which has a lake in town called "Big"). The other is that we are less than 20 miles from another "Eagle Lake"(which most call "Little Eagle").
Big Eagle Lake is located in Sherburne county, Minnesota. It is shared by two different townships. The northern 2/3 of the lake is in Orrock township and the southern 1/3 is in Big Lake township. We have 2 towns within a stones throw of the lake. Both are on County Road 5 and both are about 3-4 miles away. One is north of the lake, the small town of Orrock, MN, and the other is south, the city of Big Lake, MN.
