By Earl Rose,
Lake Association President
One thing about Midwesterners is that they all do
something about winter.
Minnesotans are no exception and Big Lakians are at the top of their
winter game this year. The
12th annual Big Eagle Lake Improvement Association Ice
Fishing Contest is here again. (BELIAIFC for short). For those who have
not opted to head off to warmer climates (one way of doing something
about winter – abandon it) the members of the Association are proud to
present what looks to be our best annual contest event ever.
This
year along with having lots of fantastic prizes, we also have
entertainment. Music, games
for the kids, lots of drawings and just a lot of fun for everyone.
The action starts at high noon February 2nd and goes
until the wee hours of 3:00pm.
There will be standard fish prizes for the biggest, the littlest,
the first and so on but also every 20 minutes or so drawings will be
held to give even more prizes away. We expect the crowd this year to
actually get tired of being given things there are so many.
Prizes. Let’s mention
a few, - Strikemaster Ice Auger, Gopher Basketball tickets, Aqua Vu
underwater camera, a Wii and a 32” LCD HDTV.
And
food; there is the
Hard Water Café
featuring pizza, Big Eagle Meet Goulash, the best chili north of Texas,
coffee and hot chocolate.
Chef Joanne has put her best apron on for this year’s event.
Contest rules are available

landing the day of the event.
Tickets are available at many of
So, if you aren’t having surgery or if you aren’t
flying out of the country or aren’t doing anything else bordering on
important, come on out and win something. Bring the kids, the family,
the neighbors and friends (if you’ve gott’em) and have some fun on the
ice with us.
Once again, if you would like to help with the Ice Fishing Contest, please call Sue Jones-763-263-8522- or any of our Board Members.
Don’t forget to check our
lake website-
www.bigeaglelake.com- for any news about the
lake and updates. (As of
01/04/08 the Board will be taking charge of the website and has to learn
how to maneuver it. Please
be patient as it may take some time).
My thanks to everyone for all the hard work...
